Joe Biden Officially Declares Candidacy for the 2024 Presidential Election, Standing One More Time!

President Joe Biden has officially announced his bid for reelection next year, aiming to “finish the job” despite growing opposition regarding his ability to perform the task. This announcement came along with uncertainty over voting for a president in his advanced age as he would be 86 years old at the end of a potential second term. In a tweet early Tuesday, Biden called his reelection bid a “battle for the soul of America” to push back against “MAGA extremists.”
Biden stated his intentions to protect “bedrock freedoms” during a potential second term and called out MAGA extremists “all over the country” for their acts of targeting Social Security, cutting back taxes for the wealthy, restricting women’s healthcare decisions, and “banning books and telling people who they can love.
Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours.

”However, despite his announcement, polls, and social conversations show that the majority of Americans do not want Biden to run again because of his age. A recent NBC News poll revealed that “70 percent of Americans, including 51 percent of Democrats,” do not want him to run for president again. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump, who has already announced his bid for reelection, criticized Biden’s bid and labeled him as “the most corrupt president in American history.”

Biden exercises five days a week and doesn’t drink alcohol, and doctors have deemed him “fit for duty” following an examination in February. Despite dropping support for Biden in polls and ongoing attacks on his age and record, he will likely face little to no opposition in winning his party’s nomination.
President Joe Biden has announced he’s running for reelection in 2024, setting the stage for a potential rematch against his predecessor, Donald Trump.
